Meet our staff

All staff at Performance Art WorkShop Studio are teaching and industry professionals in their field of expertise. They provide a wealth of knowledge in a fun and exciting environment. There are 3 staff levels at PAWS: dance teachers who are available on a weekly basis, regular guest teachers, and teachers who come to do special workshops at the studios once or twice a year. All teachers on staff will be made available to students at some point throughout their tuition at PAWS. Jayden Rodrigues

Jayden commenced dancing at the age of 6 and has been with Premier Dance Studio since they opened in 2000. He is currently studying to complete a live events course, which involves all elements of theatre, technical production, lighting, sound operation and events management

Jayden's experience and accomplishments:

• Trained in dance, drama and singing
• Performed and trained with the Sydney Dance Company since 2001, gaining experience in the theatre with performances in musicals such as: Jesus Christ Superstar, Gypsy, and Les Misérables, as well as with the Production Company Out of the Blue.
• Has been a member of the Brent Street Advertising Agency for the past 6 years, where he has gained work experience through TV commercials, modelling and character suit work.
• Worked with many corporate companies such as: Coca Cola, Cadbury, Nickelodeon, Foxtel, Dreamworks and was Promotional Ambassador for the Australian Nintendo Wii Tour in 2006.

Sharyn Constable

Sharyn's experience and accomplishments:

• Studied Ballet for 11 years with Estella Nova and Jeffrey Kovel
• Studied Regional, Flamenco Spanish, Jazz, Primitive, Aboriginal, Free Movement, Character, Irish, Contemporary and Technifunk dance styles
• Completed her RAD Teaching Diploma in 1990
• Completed her Diploma for RAD Advanced Teaching in 1999
• Worked as Head Ballet Teacher for Four Seasons Dance Studio, Dance Tech and Alegria Dance Studios from 1999 to 2001
• Became a Grade Examiner for the Royal Academy of Dance, London in 2003
• Attended dozens of dance and dance related seminars and workshops, owned her own academy of arts and performed on Broadway, New York at the Marriot Maquis
• Trained some well known celebrities including Rebecca Cartright and Delta Goodrem

Emily Davis

Emily's experience and accomplishments:

• Studied tap for many years with Claudette McCunn
• Completed a bachelor of Nursing at the University of Western Sydney in 2005
• Performed in: The Countdown Spectacular, CD Live and Australian Idol
• Received a Distinction in her RAD Intermediate exam
• Received a High Distinction for Level 8 in the Glen Wood Tap exam

Corey To'o

Corey is currently studying at ED 5 International on a full scholarship. He was offered a full scholarship to attend The McDonald College in 2008!

Corey's experience and accomplishments:

• Dancer for Marcia Hines on Australian Idol 2006
• Dancer for Legends of Rock & Soul Show
• Dance Captain for the singing group Mahogany
• Main Male Model for Castle Towers Westfield’s Fashion parades
• Main Male Model for Hornsby Westfield’s Fashion parades
• Main Male Model for Burwood Westfield’s Fashion parades
• Main Male Model for The Macquarie Centre Fashion parades
• Prince Charming in Christmas Pantomimes
• Many Christmas shows / meet and greets
• Main Dancer for Centenary Federation Parade
• Taught at many dance schools all over Sydney
• Mechanic in the Fox 8 commercial “The Singing Office”
• Recently signed up with "Grayboy"
• National cheerleading champion for the Bow & Arrow

Jo Powell — Singing Teacher

Joanna's experience and accomplishments:

• Attended a Musical Theatre Intensive Workshop in 1998
• Completed her certificate in Professional Performance - Musical Theatre, Opera and Modern Singing in 1999
• Completed a young Actors Studio Course at NIDA in 2000
• From 2001 to 2003, attended the University of Western Sydney and completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts in which she majored in Contemporary Arts and received distinction’s in her Singing and Dance electives.
• From 2004 to 2005, attended Nepean College of Art’s and Design.
• Currently a Rhythm and Blues Singer in a 5-piece band named ‘After Party Band’, performing gigs in bars from Penrith to North Sydney
• Also a singer in the ‘All Star Trio’ which is one of Sydney’s leading cover bands; showcasing various styles including, Gwen Stafani, Madonna, Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Anastasia, Beyoncé, JLo and 50 cent
